MEMORY IN THE LANDSCAPE

Steel arches were incorporated as a sculptural tribute to the owner’s late father, originally intended for his own project. Softened by native grasses and flowering plants, they sit gently within the landscape.

OPEN TO THE STREET

A fenceless native garden with basalt boulder seating, designed to encourage connection, rest & shared habitat for wildlife.

A PLACE TO REST AND REFLECT

A sawn bluestone seat creates a welcoming place to pause and connect. Located along a well-used route to the local school, it has become a gathering spot for children, parents, and grandparents to rest, meet, and enjoy the wildlife that inhabits the garden.

GRASSES AND WILDLIFE

Grasses bring movement and texture to the garden while attracting seed-eating critters.

UNDER THE FIG TREE

The backyard offers an alternative feel, with an open deck and thoughtfully integrated curved seat with brick herb garden, built with reclaimed bricks once throughout the garden. Bright pops of pink paper daisies and hardy Plectranthus planted beneath the fig tree bring colour and softness to the space, creating a refuge for relaxing and entertaining.

SOFTENED BOUNDARY

The curved seating area is complemented by a textured planting zone featuring native species, natural stone and corten reo screening for climbers. Together, these elements soften the fence line and create a layered, naturalistic garden backdrop.
