OCEAN VIEWS, GARDEN ROOMS
Perched above the cliffs of Shoreham beach, this coastal garden complements sweeping ocean views with a series of garden rooms.
SPINEBILL’S DELIGHT
Plant selections including Correas, Grevilleas and Banksias regularly attract Fairy-wrens, New Holland Honeyeaters and Eastern Spinebills into the garden.

MOVING THROUGH THE GARDEN
Open paths of gravel and randomly laid Endicott pavers connect the garden back to the home’s material palette. Open gathering spaces sit amongst wind-tolerant planting, while large basalt boulders provide protection, structure and a strong natural presence, grounding the landscape within its exposed coastal setting.
SHADED POCKETS OF COASTAL FERNS TO OPEN MEADOWS
This garden was unlike any other we have worked on, a property with nearly 180° ocean views and different climates to match the untamed coastline. We designed the garden to feel different at every turn, transitioning from shaded pockets of coastal ferns and shrubs to open meadows filled with mixed indigenous, native and perennial planting.
BEING CAREFUL WITH PLANTS
For the entertaining areas closest to the house, we carefully selected exotics and natives in protected positions to ensure they don’t escape into the pristine coastline, along with mature olives which were relocated into the garden from the olive groves.
